PAT Training

 

 

Although no formal qualification is needed to carry out portable appliance testing the person carrying out the testing does need to be competent.

In conjunction with colleagues in Rochdale we are able to offer clients a one day course for the City and Guilds 2377 part 2 certificate.

This course allows those with knowledge of electricity to:-

bulletUnderstand the requirements for carrying out the inspection and testing.
bulletUnderstand the different types of check. i.e. User check
bulletRecognise the different electrical "class" of appliances
bulletRecognise different equipment types
bulletBe able to carry out formal visual inspections
bulletBe able to carry out a combined Inspection and Test
bulletBe able to record correctly the results obtained.

At the end of the course delegates will sit a 1 hour, 30 question on-line examination .

Prior to the examination an assessment will be made of the ability of each delegate to carry out a combined Inspection and test on an item of Class 1 electrical equipment.
