Installation Work

Everyone has been to the local D.I.Y store and brought a bit of cable, a socket and a few clips and installed that extra socket. After hitting your your hand a few times, and possible a few choice expletives we vow to get the professionals in next time. The problem is very few do.

Electricians have to work to the 16th Edition of the wiring regulations (BS 7671) which is issued by the institution of Electrical Engineers.  Part of the compliance with these regulations is the certification of the work they have carried out.   Some areas of electrical installations are now reportable under the building regulations.  In effect installing extra sockets in your kitchen or an electrical water feature in your garden now needs the same planning permission as that new extension to the house you have always wanted.

Anyone one can fit an extra socket with a little bit of know how.  But have you just compromised the safety of that circuit by your addition?  Only one real way to  find out is to test it using the recommended methods, but that means obtaining the right test equipment....... yet more expense.

Our membership to the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) shows our commitment to ensuring that the work we carry out is to a good standard.  Members of NAPIT have to provide proof of qualifications, £2million pounds insurance, Up to date records of test equipment calibration and relevant publications relating to the work being carried out.
